Hasan Doğukan
Aker

Hasan Doğukan Aker is a percussionist, artistic director and composer. He started piano and drums at the age of four. After piano studies at Çukurova University State Conservatory, he completed high school, bachelor's and master's studies in percussion at Istanbul University State Conservatory. His master's thesis examines the similarities and differences in the historical development of world percussion rhythms.

In June 2026 he was festival director of the 1st Istanbul International Percussion Meetings at Caddebostan Cultural Center, leading programming, artist coordination and technical management for a 27-performance day. The second edition takes place at CKM in February 2027.

His musical epic “Drums of Wars” — written, composed and directed by him — was staged with a cast of 17 at CKM Main Stage, Kozyatağı Cultural Center and in Yalova. In 2025 he composed the music for the theatre production “Revü”. He founded and directs Khalkedon Ensemble, Khalkedon Latin Ensemble and Khalkedon Percussion Ensemble under Kadıköy Municipality.

He taught percussion at Istanbul University State Conservatory, works as a specialist instructor at Eyüboğlu Schools and teaches at Kadıköy Municipality Youth Arts Center; his students have been admitted to Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and Haliç University. In July 2026 he founded Aker Sanat Music and Arts Academy in Kadıköy.
